Description
The Air Jordan 3 “Katrina” was designed by Jordan Brand apart of a charity auction to support relief to those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Featuring a white upper with elephant-print detailing and red hits for contrast, the shoe that was first introduced in 2003 as a Derek Anderson PE went on to be a charitable donation for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts in 2006 and later wound up in a special “Become Legendary” display at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall Of Fame.
These special edition 3s feature a similar look as the beloved “White Cement” 3s with the addition of red on the mudguard instead of black. Offering white tumbled leather on the upper, the shoe is accented by red hits throughout and elephant print on the toebox and heel. The sneaker’s plastic heel tab swaps the usual Nike Air branding for a black Jumpman, keeping in line with recent Jordan 3 drops. A grey outsole complements the mostly monochrome shoe.
