Although originally designed as a basketball shoe, the Air Jordan 1 was also adopted by skateboarders shortly after its initial release — and the Jumpman is paying homage to the 1’s unique standing in skate culture with a collaborative Nike SB take on MJ’s first signature sneaker. First premiered by Nike SB team member Theotis Beasley, the new skate-ready kicks feature a white base with Lakers-esque rich purple and regal gold accents. It features a White leather toe box and side panels with Purple trimming along the toe, eyelets and heel, and Yellow on the Swoosh logos and collar. Much like previous Nike SB releases, this one will have a wear away design that looks to have a Chicago-like scheme underneath.
